Dinner Time

Statistics say: Kids who dine with their parents are healthier, happier, and better students - which is why this should be a tradition that should never be broken. Although, we are working parents, Full time students, and everything that comes with life, we do our best to sit at the table every night and have an amazing dinner, whether it's something that I made, or Manny, or even just left overs. :) but we have learned the importance of sitting at our dining table and recapturing everything that happened in our day. One thing that we normally do before we eat, is pray for our dinner whether it's just the three of us or with our friends and family;however we are teaching Alexander that it's a blessing to have a meal in our table every single day, and for that we thank God. He is also being thought that he has to pray for the poor, the needy, and for the protection of our family, friends and our home.

So, I have news - Last night Alexander mastered how to pray! it feels Awesome! An accomplishment!!! A peaceful heart and mind! I pray  that he stays faithful, and becomes a man of Faith!

The Weekend!

Xander's - Weekends are so special to us. It's those two days that Mama & Papa try their best to fill you up with kisses, take you to the park, swimming classes, see family and friends, birthday parties, make you special meals, watch Mickey Mouse Club House, make you card-board boxes, like if they were COOL! and spend as much time with you as possible. This weekend was just one of those weekends!
On Saturday morning abuelita Ivette arrived to our house with a play box.
You had a blast playing with her: Knock... Know... Who's There!

On Sunday, you normally go to swimming classes. Papa is usually your coach
and mama is your #1 Fan! After this Sunday class your teacher Ms. Katrina spoke with us and gave us the great news of you moving up next month to the next level class. Starting next month it will only be you and the teacher in the water. No parent's allowed!  We are a bit scared, but we know you will do well.  We can't wait to see you achieve this next level in swimming.

After swimming classes, You also had so much at Milan's 1st birthday party.
And.... after a very busy weekend, you ended your Sunday evening reading one of your favorite books
"Big Bear"
Thank You for always making us smile on the weekends and everyday of our lives!

The Quinceanero

To the non-Spanish, how does one explain what a Quinceanero is? "Oh, it's a big party we hold for a girl's fifteenth birthday, she dresses up in a beautiful gown, there's a limo, a church service, flowers, a tiara, a bible, dancing … you know, a Quinceanero!"The enquirer still looks puzzled. "You mean a wedding for a kid!" Unless you've been brought up in the Hispanic community, you may perhaps have never even heard of the term. However, it is to uncover a cultural tradition that dates back to Aztec times, when fifteen was commonly the age when girls would leave their family to become wives and mothers themselves.

Alexander - This weekend we attended Lauren's ( your second cousin) quinceanero. She looked stunning, and You had a blast. You actually were picked by her to walk down the isle with her new shoes, which represents her going from a girl to a young woman. You danced all night and we learned that you are a great dancer. Mama and Papa also danced, and ran around the whole night after you. You were such a blast that night. As soon as the night ended, you fell asleep in a matter of three minutes.

You did an amazing job walking primita Lauren's shoes.
                                                         I love you so much!

You danced the whole night away!

My Little Singer

I have a very close friend of mine that when ever she would sing in front of me, she would ask me, " I can sing right?" and I remember my answer to her being "No!" But for some reason she would always explain how she believed she can sing because when she would cover her ears, or sang in the shower she sounded great, and well - I would always laugh about it. After being a mom of a 23 month old that all he does now is sing, I think about my dear friend. Alexander now days thinks everything is a microphone, including: a straw, a phone, an umbrella, and even a remote control. Therefore, We have decided to enroll him in music classes. We start this Saturday, so I promise to give you updates and let you know how well he does, but whether he becomes a singer or not, he will always be a great little singer to me.
Enjoy the Video...  This time he thought the umbrella was his microphone. :)

The BLOG!

I have been wanting to start a blog ever since Alexander was born, but with everything going on in our lives including being parents, students, full time work, everything that comes with life and adding all the excuses not to start... have gotten me to start this blog a month before Alexander turns two. As every other parent out there know  every day is a new experience for Alexander and for us.
